How to Use the AI Connector Matcher
The matcher turns a part number or description into an engineer-verified equivalent. Here is how to get the best result in the fewest steps.
1. Give it something to match
Paste an OEM part number (for example FGG.1B.307), a datasheet excerpt, or a plain-language description like "7-pin push-pull circular, IP68, autoclavable".
2. Add application context
Mention the industry, environment, mating cycles, or sealing requirements. The more context, the tighter the match and the fewer follow-up questions.
3. Review the equivalent
The matcher returns the HiHarness equivalent part with its key specs and a note on any differences from the OEM part.
4. Move to a quote
When you are satisfied, send the match straight into an RFQ. The context carries over so our engineers pick up exactly where the AI left off.
Pro tips
Get sharper matches
- Include tolerances that matter — sealing rating, temperature range, and flex life drive the match.
- Batch related parts in one conversation to keep a single project thread.
- For a full BOM, use the Bulk Upload tool instead of pasting parts one at a time.
- If a part is proprietary, describe the interface — the matcher works from specs, not just part numbers.
